COURSE OVERVIEW

Understand the link between diversity and inclusion (D&I) and organisational performance and competitiveness.

The course has been designed for use by junior, middle and senior management levels in public and private sector organisations to assist them to understand the link between diversity and inclusion (D&I) and organisational performance and competitiveness.

It covers key topics of diversity and inclusion, preparing learners, logically and intellectually, courses in Unconscious Bias.

Part 1 explores:

  • the definition of diversity
  • why diversity matters to organisations (or the business case)
  • bullying and harassment, unacceptable behaviours,
  • and it delves into core aspects of unconscious bias

Part 2 scrutinises the behaviours discussed in Part 1 under the lens of Equal Opportunity Legislation as they relate to the different strands of diversity, including; generational diversity, gender, disability, race, sexual orientation, LGBTI, etc.

A range of case studies, case law examples, and ‘Did You Know That?’ facts and figures are included in a Resources section allowing learners to carry out further research as required, with links to best practice diversity bodies.

The course ends with an interesting section on cultural diversity and workplace flexibility.
